After Isolation
An exhibition identity centered on renewal

After Isolation was an exhibition featuring nine women artists from diverse mixed ethnicities, united by the theme of ‘life after the pandemic’.

I developed an identity centered on the concept of ‘new beginnings.’ To convey this without using artworks (as most were yet to be created), I drew inspiration from nature, a common theme in the artists' proposals. Using a time-lapse film of flowers blooming, I blurred the imagery into abstraction, removing any obvious floral references.

In representing women artists, it was essential to involve women and non-conforming creatives which led me to chose the typeface Fabio Brüt by Giulia Boggio, setting it in electric blue capitals to contrast the softness of the background, creating a striking interplay of curves and edges.

Incorporating motion added fluidity to the identity, enhancing its digital impact and allowing me to create a versatile collection of stills for use across various assets.

The identity was successful in its celebration of diversity and renewal, receiving positive feedback from visitors, media, and the artists involved.
